We live in a paradise that we take for granted.
Slow down and take that breath.
Wathaurung Country. Lived on this land for over 25,000 years here in what we now call Victoria.
Gathered with a few dozen people near the banks of the Barwon River at The Door Gallery Cafe in Fyansford, Victoria, we were here to share a moment.

Custodians and keepers of the spirit of the yadaki. This lore was passed onto them from their elder, Djalu Gurruwiwi. The rainbow serpent, Wititj, runs through the lessons that Djalu has passed on to his kin. Djalu also passed his knowledge and culture to the many people he saw in his country and around the world.
Film director Ben Strunin was in attendance to talk to us about the film Westwind: Djalu’s Legacy and briefly about his next project. We watched some films and Larry and Vernon shared music and story.
After a short break, our Yolngu brothers shared some healing via the yidaki. People were visibly moved, some to tears. My experience was similar to a shamanic drum journey in the visions I had. This comes up often and I was flying overhead.
Larry had visions while he played the yidaki and he shared his thoughts with each of us individually. We were each given a moment to connect with a culture that is 65,000 years old or older.
The beating of the heart of the people of this land.
Always was and always will be.
