Yesterday’s word was creativity.
Weather gods brought us rain so I took a short trip to Djilang (Geelong). Djilang is part of the Wadawurrung Nation and Djilang means a Tongue Of Land. As you can see from the map below I would assume that is the ‘tongue’. What a land of abundance it is and must have been. The drive from Torquay to Geelong was about 25 minutes.
Creativity found me taking a look at the Geelong Gallery. On display were the 2024 Geelong Contemporary Art Prize works. The MAKE Award—Biennial Prize for Innovation in Australian Craft and Design was also displayed. Instead of dipping my toes into the ocean, I dipped them into art.

These are the ones that I liked….along with the shopping list above…which I would have given the prize to.
Which one do you think won? You can find out by going to the link below.
Many thanks to the Art Gallery for the use of these reproductions.

Diverse Dominion Deities (set of 4)Â 2023
Mass-produced ceramic sourced from the internet, porcelain, air dry modelling clay, Blu-Tack, industrial spray paint, acrylic paint gold, cobalt pigment
The streets of Geelong also presented me with some scenes that I turned into photographic art.

And since Woodstock has just passed here is a playlist of some songs by artists who played Woodstock……not from the fields of Bethel, mind you.
After a day of walking the streets all my friends were waiting for me at home.
