Nu. Pronounced ‘new’ or ‘ni’?

Dude who looked like Ned Kelly running The Vine Hotel in Wangaratta said to me yesterday, “Out with the old, and in with the Nu”.

Within hours of the Knights That Say Ni memes flooding my social media and the Nu/New jokes coming right at ya, we have a new name.

Omicron variant: B.1.1.529. Lord Omicron. Or my new mantra ommmmmmmicron.

This is just a warning shot over the bow to let you know this pandemic is not over.

Or if you are some sort of conspiracy bogan, it is a plan for Big Pharma to sell a new vaccine and boost their profits.

Can you feel the vibrations of either alarmist fear or the possibility that this variant is going to cause further social unrest and pandemic blues?

Selfishly, I hope I can get to Sydney to see friends and family before there is some seismic shift to our daily lives again.

Word has it some people have landed in Australia from Africa and testing is going on to find out if the 2 that have tested positive have the new varmint. Fingers crossed it is just our old friend Delta.

My advice is to get amongst it. Don’t hesitate. Maybe this will give you some motivation to shake off those cobwebs, your social phobia, and give some friends a hug.

I know that is the path I will be taking.
