So fucking special….but you are not a CREEP.
So many things to choose from. Should I have 1, 2 or 20 eggs?
Here at the Half Moon Diner in Half Moon Bay, California, I decided to go for one of the specials. You have to take note that The Breakfast of Royalty, Eggs Benedict, is $11.99.
I decided to have something beyond royalty. My bennies were going to contain Crab Meat.
Half Moon Bay has one of the largest concentrations of this seafood delicacy with more than 50 commercial boats fishing off Pillar Point Harbor, the last working fishing harbor between San Francisco and Monterey.
It said “MP” (market price) for the crab and since I was so close to the boats I did not even ask the obvious question.
My daughter Freya and I had a wonderful brekkie and I felt like a king. I was full.
When I got the check (cheque as we write down here) it was 75.00 USD for our meal.
That was about 115.00 Australian dollars for 2 for breakfast.
We had no alcohol.
FMD…..ie FUCK ME DEAD!
Now I needed a drink, but it was a tad early! And drinks were only 5 bucks each….
Things got better.
Mexican food featured many times. This is because down under what passes as Mexican food is usually POOR.
There are exceptions and if you know of any send me your tips!
Mission District in Ripponlea, Victoria is ace. Check it out if you are in Melbourne.
This pizza also featured many times as I was staying about a mile from their kitchen.
Umberto’s of New Hyde Park.
There is no argument it is the best pizza I have ever had on this planet.
This breakfast on a stick I found with my cousin Janice at Aldi’s in Florida. We did not buy it but I was tempted.
And some food art.
Now it is time for din-dins!
I am having homemade food in Cockatoo tonight.
But, hot damn, I wish I was eating what you see below.
Go the Pies! (see what I did there?)
More food pictures sometime down the line….
