Underground Art….Literally.
My feet are planted back in the red earth of Australia and it is good to be vibrating at a slower speed.
On one of my many trips to New York City recently I came across an art installation at 14th Street and 8th Avenue
Life Underground, created by artist Tom Otterness, took 10 years to create and Tom commenced work on it in 2002. The bronze sculptures are a breath of creativity down in the electric sewers that millions of people travel on each week.
Otterness created over 5x the number of sculptures and they now number over 100. If I had not had to catch a subway I may have spent more time checking them all out.
Now you can always tell the story about an alligator in the subway and it will be true.
It is a myth no longer
