No one deserves to die for their political opinion.
In America, the land of milk and honey and guns and more guns, they seem to have lost the plot.
I lived through the killings of JFK/RFK/MLK, and others, and the riots and the protests of that time.
Today it seems that there is more localised violence, neighbour on neighbour, and of course, we have the mass shootings against different groups.
Before the election in 2024, Reuters published this article. I think it’s worth a look.
After the shooting, I came across this clip from author/activist/speaker Marianne Williamson. You may know she is also poles apart from the MAGA message Kirk spruiked.
And just before I hit publish, this so-called ‘tribute’ to Kirk was broadcast here in Australia. Megyn Kelly, political commentator and media personality, had this to say.
Compare the two. I will leave that to your judgement.
The back and forth and the hate will not end here.
I keep praying it will.
This is beyond politics.
This is about being human.
