Orleans-Remember “Dance With Me”? The No Nukes Concerts and MUSE (Musicians United For Safe Energy) and “Still The One”. John Hall was a founding member of Orleans, MUSE, and a politician. His politics came from a good space.
The No Nukes Rally at Battery Park in NYC in the shade of the World Trade Centre was on the 23rd of September 1979.
There were about 300,000 of us down there that day.
Community, Love, Connection, Action, and on that day some good old-fashioned joy.
Sunshine within, sunshine on our tongues, not a cloud in the sky. Was one of the most joyful days of my spins around this planet.
Osborne Brothers
Oscar Brand- A mainstay at the Nassau Community College Folk Festivals.
Oteil Burbridge
Otis Taylor-A man of many political words and songs and strings. A legend you should know.
Outlaws-They had their 15 minutes of fame with a few ‘hits. They formed in 1967 and are still together today and their peak was in the 70’s when the South Was Gonna Do It Again, according to Charlie Daniels.
I have no idea what they sound like today but they have had about 55 members of the band since 1967. I believe one original member is still active.
Owen Mcbride
Ozark Mtn Daredevils-November 30, 1974 at The Academy of Music. Saturday Night Late Show.
New Rider Of The Purple Sage/Commander Cody and this new band.
I recall the Ozark set as the LSD had not kicked in yet. The rest of the night will be written about at some other point in time as one of my ‘experiences’.
The show finished at sunrise.
Also saw them a year later with Brewer and Shipley at The Bottom Line with my sister, Ginger.
