1-It smells like weed up in these hills

2-There are many more right-leaning people up here than I imagined.

3-This is a beautiful part of our planet. Let the trees flourish and the rivers flow.

4-Did I mention it smells like weed up here?

5-Numerous times I have been told everything is Joe Biden’s fault. Depending on the tone of the conversation I ask for elaboration, but most times I deflect to another topic.

6-Redwoods are sacred and majestic. Hundreds of acres of redwoods were returned to a coalition of native tribes this year in Mendocino County, California. The forest has been renamed Tc’ih-Leh-Dun, which means ‘fish run place’ in the Sinkyone language. This is an act of cultural empowerment and indigenous resilience.

Renaming this forest ensures it is known as a sacred place and that there was a language and a people here long before now.

7-The fissures in this country seem even larger up close.

8-Alexander Govor, a Russian mega-entrepreneur has bought the McDonald’s chain of restaurants in Russia and has rebranded them. The logo represents two French fries and a burger on a green background. Sure, let me light up a joint and see if I see that.

9-This weekend festival was on, and I was NOT stoned, but I missed it because of more important matters to tend to like seeing my daughter and her boyfriend.
