JUNE 2025- Weirdness Wrap For The Month
Everything is weird...move to the bottom for the Playlist of New Music
What the hell can I write about that is weirder than Alligator Alcatraz or the Iran/Israel/American War Theatre of the violently absurd? More innocent people have died. The Orange Psycho intimates that he will deport U.S. citizens if he can get away with it.
Things that we may have considered ultra-weird and surreal in the past keep becoming normalised.
For example, consider a field in Indiana where seven Amazon Data Centres, each as large as a football field, are now in place, where corn was grown a year ago.
From the New York Times:
With hundreds of thousands of miles of fiber connecting every chip and computer together, the entire complex will form one giant machine intended just for artificial intelligence.
The facility will consume 2.2 gigawatts of electricity — enough to power a million homes. Each year, it will use millions of gallons of water to keep the chips from overheating. And it was built with a single customer in mind: the A.I. start-up Anthropic, which aims to create an A.I. system that matches the human brain.
Sure, that is damn right dystopian and makes you think about the end of humanity, but it is not weird, because it is reality.
No one seems to blink an eye. People are unable to pay attention anymore. Weird?

Funghi can make things weird or kill you. The Leongatha Mushroom Murder Trail of Erin Paterson is concluding, and this story popped up, which gave me faith in good ‘shroms in New York State:
On May 24, Forest Ranger Robert Praczkajlo responded to a 911 call from Cascade Mountain in the Adirondacks, the Associated Press reported. Two hikers told a steward at the mountain's summit that the third member of their party had died and that they were lost. The steward, however, realized that the hikers "were in an altered mental state," and Praczkajlo escorted them to an ambulance. Turns out the hikers had taken hallucinogenic mushrooms, and their friend wasn't dead at all. After being treated at a hospital, the trio met up at their campsite.
What a long, strange trip it was…..
And if you don’t know about Erin and the Beef Wellington of Leongatha, in short, she served lunch to some family members and three died from death cap mushrooms. The jury is deliberating her fate as I write. Be careful what you eat or cook…or who serves it to you. A TV series is soon to be released because viewers love true crime. Oy vey.
The only thing unusual about this is the courtroom drawings, as seen above..
AI creators and AI-generated content, such as deepfakes, make it difficult for anyone to discern the real weirdness. Everyone with a laptop can create the AI slop that is coming at ya. The truth is buried under so much.
I think it is not politically or environmentally correct to use AI, and let’s not forget how AI utilizes the intellectual property of anyone on the internet. AI has no soul.
What do you think about this clip below? Is this real? Weird? Who dropped the first nuclear weapon, Cruella?
You feel the weirdness every day. I know you do if you have a heart and a soul and care about humanity. Love has always been the answer. Do we have to keep repeating that until the walls fall?
Shit, I’m approaching 70 (and that is not miles per hour) and it certainly appears that all of us are not trying to do that love thing.
An oddity used to be something that might make us laugh or even reveal a new way of being.
The seams of our unity as humans on this planet are being ripped asunder. Is there a light at the end of the tunnel or is it just a damn train?
Walking the streets of Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh, or Vientiane, you see the same impossible dream being chased. People are working multiple jobs to gain purchasing power or to make ends meet. Travel is still a fabulous insight.
There is so much of everything for everyone. What is needed is a global shift in how we approach life.
Have you ever heard of the concept of the separation of church and state in the United States? I wish this was AI SLOP….
Nations have long regarded GDP growth as a key measure of success. Well-being, inclusivity, and a healthier environment should be the measures of success. How do we get more of the world to look through that kaleidoscope?
Measuring well-being and caring for our community, country, and planet is the only way we can manage the sense of unease that pervades our spirit and infects the leaders and rulers of the world.
I think back on standing in line at the supermarket with my Mom. The National Enquirer would be there, showing me headlines like this:

I preferred when he was just bing bing binging….
Let’s see what July has in store….I want a month without something coming out of Washington.
I can dream.
Some albums to check out this month:
Van Morrison-Remembering Now-Van The Man still has some soul and he fills these grooves with some of his best music in years.
Will Varley-Machines Will Never Learn To Make Mistakes Like Me-Folk music for the 21st Century. Some optimism, some darkness, and Billy Bragg joins in.
David Lowery-Father, Sons and Brothers-Autobiographical saunter and stroll through Lowery’s life on this double record. Enjoy.
Bruce Springsteen-Tracks II- The Lost Albums-Springsteen has gone into his vaults and released seven albums of music recorded between 1983 and 2018. Bruce compiled it during the COVID shutdown, so wear a mask.
