But, like everyone else the real war is on our wallets and our privacy. Just yesterday petrol, or gas as some of you call it, went from $2.20 a litre to $2.40 between sunrise and sunset. It’s even gone higher. For my American readers, that is $9.00 AUD a gallon or $6.50 USD.
Diesel? You need to take out a loan to get diesel. 3.29 a litre and in Imperial terminology that is $11.35 AUD a gallon or just over $8.00 USD.
There is another counter that was stopped….I think it might have been unable to keep up….or the numbers were damn scary.
Meanwhile, the cost to Australia consumers over the first 6 months of Trumps wee excusrsion into Iran has cost us over 17 Billion and climbing. This little war was due to be over in 4-6 weeks. Yeah, right. Iran says they will not end their blockade until Trump and Netenyahu are powerless.
Australia is the highest per capita consumer of diesel fuel, and the disproportionate surge in diesel prices — which were not that much higher than petrol prices before the conflict as they have been since — is causing a lot of pain.
