"G" Bands/Musos I Recall Seeing
If My Memory Serves Me Well We Are Sitting at 59 so far.
We are now up the the 7th letter of the Alphabet and G is for Gomez and The Grateful Dead. I don’t think there are many artists in the “G” category that I love more than these 2 bands.
Quite possibly 2 of my favourite bands of all time.
That’s another list that really does not need compiling.
Gomez. If you have never taken a deep dive into their music, I think you should.
You will be surprised at the variety of tunes they can serve up.
The Grateful Dead. Simply, I have a Dead Tattoo on my arm. I gave my Hard Drive of music to my mate Nello and he called it Terrabyte Station. This is a sort of in-Dead joke as they have an album entitled Terrapin Station.
They truly were able to bring ALL styles and genres of American music to the stage. American Beauty and Workingman’s Dead are the studio albums to start with and if you dig them then you have to move to listening to some of their live concerts.
That is where the alchemy occurred. With over 2000 live shows and who knows how many songs, the live catalog is endless. I am sure there is a database on the internet somewhere that will tell us that. Deadheads are obsessive. I am part of that tribe.
Let’s get into the other artists that make up the “G’” List. IF they are BOLD I saw them more than once.

Govt Mule-May 3, 2003 ranks up there as one of the best nights of music I ever attended. The gig started at 1000PM and finished just before 4 AM. Read the liner notes. One of my dear N’awilns Memories at The Saenger Theatre.
That’s all I can come up….but if I dig anymore up as time goes on these little posts will be updated.
