“It’s so easy to slip, it’s so easy to fall….and let your memory drift, and do nothin’ at all.”-Fred Martin/Lowell George
Bags of memories that don’t clutter the house but take up space within your being. Some good, some bad, and some you wonder why you even recall that piece of information.
It’s nice collecting them for the stories we can tell.
Stories are important.
Mortality is something we all must face, and I hope you can cuddle up with it because it certainly will be part of your journey.
As we all age, the aches, the pains, and the things you can’t do anymore start to multiply. Some of us get struck down by some killer illness and some of us just slowly break down.
Nothing newsworthy there.
The news is another matter.
There is a war in Europe.
It’s been going on for over a year.
People shoot each other daily in some countries and there is no war declared there.
Headlines that we are approaching a sixth mass extinction battle for the online front page with the news that some billionaire is engaged.
Racism in my country never seems to disappear.
Racism never seems to disappear.
Period.
We are all connected. Don’t ever forget that.
All beings.
Our evolution and future existence as a species are in doubt.
Life as you and I know it will not continue as we have lived it.
Community and connection and love and forgiveness get trumped each day by some horror story.
Bill Hicks talked about it a bit in his routine.
For all the children, I hope humanity can pick between fear and love.
The ride we are on is the ride we choose.
I’m just some dude writing words. I do not have answers to the big questions.
Just another human with stories.
I do know that the paradigm of consumerism, military madness, and a belief that we are not part of nature but rather we as humans are above it and control it, has not worked out.
The world is moving faster than a speeding bullet. Tomorrow you may not be able to tell the difference between fact and fiction.
Artificial intelligence is already showing us how that might be.
My suggestion is to fill your life with love and community and understanding.
We are all part of this human family. We all bleed red. We are all connected.
All beings. Even this little guy below. Isn’t he beautiful?
No matter what side of the fence you sit on, we are all the same.
The programming of our society has pushed us to the edge of the cliff.
Don’t be a lemming. Turn around and fill your life with the good stuff.
Imagine. Imagine. Imagine.
And I don’t mean imagine going into space to find a new planet to destroy.
Imagine how we can work together.
Come together.
It is a choice.
Above is a book I am in the middle of reading that may help you look at your world and life in a much more positive way.
I have not completed it yet, but here I am recommending it.
Paul Callaghan and Uncle Paul Gordon bring together Aboriginal spirituality and thousands of years of stories and Western world views to illustrate The Dreaming Path. This is one path we should all be on. Together.
Some of the topics discussed and weaved into the stories of both cultures are:
Caring for our place and the importance of story.
Relationships, sharing, and unity
Love, gratitude, and humility
Learning and living your truth
Inspiration and resilience
Being present and healing from the past
Contentment
Leading
Be Here Now

Love is the only truth and the truth is hard to find. Lucky you Buschy . It appears that you have found it.
