Greetings Fellow Humans!

Hope this message finds you in good spirits and comfortable.

This is your invitation to Just A Moment Call #1 Redux.

It will be a special call.

Why?

Just because you might be there with a few other souls and me.

Just recently, in a 24 hour period , I have been lucky enough to hear from a good handful of people I dearly love. Online chats, text messages and phone calls all bombarded me with happiness. That’s one type of HUMAN Connection.

Connection. Let’s think about it. There are many forms.

And that leads us into some questions/suggestions of things to contemplate and feel into (you can do some, none, or change them in any way to suit yourself):

• What activities bring you connection to the more-than-human world around you?

• How do you experience that connection (feelings, embodiment, etc.)?

• What kind of connection do you need/crave and what happens when you get it (and when you don’t get it)?

And some invitations:

• Write, draw, sing, or do anything creative about a meaningful episode of connection you’ve had to the more-than-human world (dreams are included of course!)—you can share anything you like on the session.

• Go out on a wander to seek connection if you feel called to do that

TIPS:

• Speak from the heart, listen from the heart, get to the heart of the matter—be spontaneous and try not to rehearse what you’re going to share (yes, it is very hard)

• This is new: Sharing can consist of anything that supports the truthful sharing of your heart—reading poetry, singing, movement, showing art you’ve drawn, or even silence

• Just come along and take a little time out.

Meanwhile, take this thought away today you bunch of miracles:
Probability of your existing at all: 1 in 102,685,000

As a comparison, the number of atoms in the body of an average male (80kg, 175 lb) is 1027. The number of atoms making up the earth is about 1050. The number of atoms in the known universe is estimated at 1080.

So what’s the probability of your existing? It’s the probability of 2 million people getting together – about the population of San Diego – each to play a game of dice with trillion-sided dice. They each roll the dice, and they all roll, say, 550,343,279,001. The exact same number out of a trillion possible numbers.

A miracle is an event so unlikely as to be almost impossible. By that definition, I’ve just shown that you are a miracle.

Now go forth and feel and act like the miracle that you are.

Building community, one moment at a time.

The aim isn’t to fix one another or give advice. It’s simply to create a space where we can listen deeply, share honestly, and leave feeling a little more connected than when we arrived.

A chance to share, listen, and connect.

Format: 1-hour Zoom gathering

Sharing

1. Introduce yourself
Briefly, please tell us your name and how you’re arriving today. How are you feeling as you join the call?

2. Reflection prompt # 1
Whether you live in a city, the suburbs, the desert, or the bush, share one moment in nature that has brought you joy recently.

• What was it?

• How did it make you feel?

• Why do you think it affected you so deeply?

• Has nature given you this feeling before?

• Anything else that comes to you

• Bring a picture to share if you want…..if you captured the moment.

There are no right or wrong answers—just speak from your own experience.

After everyone who would like to share has had the opportunity, we’ll open the space for anyone who would like to reflect on or respond to what they’ve heard.

We’ll finish with a short poem, reading, or recommendation—a book, piece of music, artwork, or anything else that has recently inspired you. We’ll take turns bringing something to share, and I’ll kick us off this time.

There is no expectation to attend every gathering. Come when you can. No pressure.

As this community grows, I’d love to experiment with the format. Perhaps I’ll send the reflection question a few hours before each call—or perhaps we’ll discover it together during the call, so we can respond within the moment.

Any ideas, let me know. Also, someone can come up with the idea each month, even if you can’t attend the call.

I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes, having some fun, and building a genuine connection together.
